Project consortium

Media Dialogue project is implemented by a consortium of five organisations: The European Partnership for Democracy (project lead), ARTICLE 19, Westminster Foundation for Democracy, Media Policy Institute and the ALDA – European Association for Local Democracy.

European Partnership for Democracy
The European Partnership for Democracy is a non-profit organisation supporting democracy worldwide. It comprises fourteen European civil and political society organisations from eleven EU Member States present in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America. Through innovative and collaborative methodologies based on the development of effective partnerships, EPD facilitates the exchange of knowledge and good practices around the world while advocating for a stronger presence of democracy support on the European Union’s agenda.
Media Policy Institute 
Media Policy Institute’s primary objective is to promote a developed free information space within Kyrgyzstan through promoting media freedom. MPI pursues this fundamental mission through four strategic objectives: supporting the reform and development of Kyrgyz media legislation; providing legal support through legal aid to members of the Kyrgyz media community; promoting public awareness of the important democratic advantages of a strong and independent media; and developing new models of relationship between mass-media and the public through self-regulation, mediation and improving the legal culture surrounding information law.
ARTICLE 19 is an independent not-for profit organization dedicated to the promotion of freedom of expression and access to information as fundamental human and empowerment rights. Founded in 1987, ARTICLE 19 holds a unique position within the wider free expression and information community, being a global standard setting and advocacy organization, which brings together international best practice on governance and human rights and deep regional and national knowledge and networks through an integrated global approach to promote, protect, develop and fulfil freedom of expression and the free flow of information.
Westminster Foundation for Democracy 
The Westminster Foundation for Democracy is the UK’s leading democracy-strengthening organisation. Operating closely with, but remaining independent of, the British government, the WFD brings together parliamentary and political party expertise to foster inclusive governance, accountability, representation and citizen participation in developing countries and countries transitioning democracy. One of the WFD’s core principles is the universal establishment of legitimate and effective multi-party representative democracy.
ALDA – European Association for Local Democracy 
ALDA – European Association for Local Democracy is an organisation dedicated to the promotion of good governance and citizen participation at the local level. ALDA focuses particularly on activities that facilitate cooperation between local authorities and civil society in the European Union and its Neighbourhood.
